About the test lab

Today’s Worker studies repeated business jobs and tests possible workflows. It reports the baseline, fixtures, authority boundaries, scores, and failures before it offers a product.
Why this exists
Most AI advice stops at a tool, a prompt, or a polished screenshot. Platforms teach buyers to build systems; consultants build custom systems for them. A business still needs to know which route completed one job safely, what it cost, where it failed, and whether the result can be reproduced.
The owner should not become a full-time AI integrator. The workflow should earn its place by moving time, errors, revenue, cost, or cycle time.
Who it is for
No first customer group is active now. Current research looks for business work that repeats, has a measurable cost, and still needs human approval after common software is used.
The customer group will be selected only after current evidence supports one direction.
What “verified” means
- The source and expected result are named.
- The work is read back from the actual artifact or system of record.
- A failing-direction test is included when practical.
- Customer outcomes are not claimed until customers produce them.
What “independent” means
- No vendor may pay to win or suppress a failure.
- Tool access, sponsorship, and affiliate relationships are disclosed beside the result.
- A vendor claim is labeled as a vendor claim until independently reproduced.
- Test limitations and losing runs remain visible.
How the site is built
Troy VanMaanen owns Today’s Worker. An AI operating agent researches, drafts, builds, checks, and maintains the work. AI involvement is disclosed rather than presented as a human-only editorial process.
Public claims use source evidence. Customer communication, payments, production deployment, and other consequence boundaries retain human approval.
What this will not become
- An AI-news digest
- A directory of tools nobody has installed
- A pile of context-free prompts
- A course campus with twelve unfinished modules
- A promise of unsupervised “AI employees”
- A testimonial wall built before customers exist
